A/C noise

Can you hear your a/c cycle while on the freeway? With the windows up and the radio off I can hear "pssssssssssssssst...4-5 seconds...pssssssssssssst...etc!

Maybe its low on freon due to a leak of some kind. Other than the noise, is the A/C working fine?

Yeah, cold as can be. i had the dealer check it out nad thaty said that it was working as designed and that a Little noise is to be expected.

Well the noise that you hear is the compressor. I guess if they say it's working fine then the noise is probably normal.

how loud is it? I can hear my buddies 94 325i do that but it isn't very loud.

Never heard mine do it but i don't use mine very often.

Its very subtle, but thats my profession...hearing. My wife said to just stop pocking the car apart and enjoy it. Damn she's smart

ha...I used to do that when I first purchased my car. Now I've learn to overlook the small things and just enjoy the car.

Drive with the windows down. That's what I do. You can't hear the rattles and squeaks
