A BMW is better in my opinion. Not just for being biased, but because I don't understand how they can roll around making all that ruckus, and I get a ticket if my stereo is turned up to loud.

Yea I saw that show, personally I don't care for big brash American bikes, and the whole bandana wearing, bar fighting, rebel image that goes along with them.

Mostly I'm full of crap, but I have owned a couple BMW bikes. I love them! Great touring bikes, and the K1 I had was wicked fast (got popped by CHP radar doing 168). Owned a couple hogs and honda, but never a duc. I'd really like a duc.

You guys all know how I feel about BMW Bikes...I think they look awesome, real exotic, but they are only good as touring bikes...I think they lack heavily in the performance department. [V]

Yeah, BMW doesn't make a bike that directly competes in the sport bike performance category. The closest they get is the K1200RS, which is considered Sport Touring, but a lot of people think it's the best in that category.

The current K1200 is about 135 hp, and about 75 - 100 lbs heavier than the hot sport bikes (GSX, etc.) Rumor is that the K series is being totally redesigned for 2004 to address some of these issues, but I doubt they will ever compete in the pure sport bike market.

Yeah, the K1 is pretty rare. I saw a few in Europe, but I had the only one I ever saw in the US. I'm curious about the new K bikes, but I'm not so much into big bikes anymore. I'd rather have a small nimble bike... Yanks just streched the lead by two more runs!

If I got a Sport Touring, it'd be a BMW. If I were over 60 years old, then I'd consider a Goldwing. Until then, my dream bike is still the MV Agusta F4 Serie Oro.
