Da Vinci Code - Hmmmmmmm

I read it. Really good book! But don't think for a second that half that stuff is true. The begginning of the book says something like the places and actual art pieces are true. I don't think that any of the rest of it is true...ie the grail. Really entertaining though. It was hard to start the book, but about four chapters into it I couldnt put it down. I really reccomend it to anyone!
I agree the book did start out slow, kinda like a more educated Indiana Jones type book, not really my style, but I'm glad I finished it before the movie comes out. There are vacation packages being sold that take you to all the places mentioned in the book.

Great book, couldn't put it down. Remember that it IS fiction. Dan Brown does an outstanding job building his fiction on fact, and also making his fiction sound like facts.
Interestingly, almost everything that he talks about regarding Opus Dei IS factual. Sorry, a band of spikes digging into my leg as penance doesn't make me want to run out and join them.
Frolf suggested reading his other books a while back. I read Angels and Demons and Digital Fortress. I thought A & D was every bit as good as Code, similar themes and storyline. Digital Fortress was good but not as good as the others.

the reason i didn't like digital fortress or deception point as much waw beause iw as kind of latched on to one character from the other two books.
off topic, i just read Bringing down the House, by Ben M-somethingorother it is a true story of six MIT students that have a blackjack team and nail vegas. it was a fun book and a quick read.

i really liked the book. it's still so popular that they still haven't release the paper back yet! even tho the story is fiction, dan brown did a great job of weaving a good story. but reading a book like that makes you wonder how much deception covers the "world as we know it"
digital fortress: i liked it enough to stay up until 5-6 in the morning 2 straight days to finish it, but it left me feeling like brown is a second rate Crichton. the story didn't really flow naturally, it's like he had this grand vision, and tried to pry the characters into that situation. either way, it was still a fun read.
