I have Dish Network. I like the menu system a little better in Direct TV, but I like the channel surf option on Dish Network. You can continue watching your show and see whats on, by channel and show at the bottom of the screen

Oh ya - Dish Network is a little cheaper.

Blue ridge cable, www.brctv.com
One of the first cable companies in the US and one of the VERY few that are not owned by comcast (yet, lets hope it stays that way!)

I cant complain, though i've been wandering if we should just get one of the satelite packs with the 4 receivers and ditch cable -- we'd get 40 more channels [rolleyes]

"With comcast highspeed...." "With comcast digital cable..." "With we're a crappy cable company with terrible customer supprt"

No joke! I used to have AT&T cable and was paying $26 a month for extended basic cable. Comcast bought them out and promptly raised my bill to $42 a month. I've called several times to try and get it dropped but they just transfer me around to 3 or 4 people and then say, "Sorry, that's our best deal right now." Jerks.

General Chat earns you no posts.

We have DirecTV and we are very happy with it so far. It is pricey at $100 a month, compared to regular cable TV, but our DirecTV plan boasts 500+ channels. It's not worth it for everyone, though because it's basically just mad channels of all the same shit....50 movie channels, 50 sports channels, 50 news channels, etc. And out of all the channels available, all I care about are the movie channels, Tech TV, MTV/MTV2, Comedy Central, and the local channels.

We have Direct TV and we can do that watch show on top while channel surf on the bottom. Direct TV is ok. We only have the basic package and some Chinese channel package my parents got. I prefer cable cuz you don't need a box adaptor like sattelite does. We only have 3 TVs with all the channels now where as when we had cable, all the TVs got the extra channels.

Time Warner.............lol.............but I wish I could come home and automatically there would be something else.......all the ifs, ands, buts would be worked out and I hit the remote and woala, something new. My cable is $78.00 per month and that is crazy if you ask me........

I kinda like my cable, ditched the Dish after not being able to get local channels. I also like having cable internet with decent speed and digital cable for about 90 bucks all in one bill. At my last base.....the weather really screwed up the sat reception. I was never into all the extra channels, just my TechTV and Speed Channel, all the rest were crap. I still never mess with HBO or the others either....all old movies to me, by the time they are on HBO, I rented them months ago. Just my 2 cents.

I'm stickign to DSL. I live in areas where most people have high speed internet access. Back in college (in Irvine), we had cable modem. It was so slow on occasions, that modem was faster. I often had to go back to school to use their T1 line cuz I was so frustrated with the speed of cable modem.

I have Adelphia cable which I have been quite happy with for the most part. The prices are high but I have cable going to every tv without having a box which is a great benifit when you have 7 tvs. I do have boxes on 3 though which gets me HBO, Showtime, and several other great movie channels. Its not all of them but enough and it all costs about $130 a month with the High speed internet.

Now If you are interested in Satilite wait a few months. Direct TV was bought out last month and is now under new management. Direct Tv is going to become a direct competitor to Dish vs how it is now. Dish always offers deals while Direct Tv dosent. Direct Tv's new manager is going to change all that and compete with Dish directly making it so that better deals will come out and prices will go down. I got all this info from a guy I know who does Satilite Tv stuff for both companies.

The main pros with Satilite is that it is all Digital vs not all channels are on regular cable. Better customer service then with the cable companys. Con is that you must have a box for every room which will add mucho cost to your bill.
