I have been using firefox for quite a while. It is very stable, but every once and a while it won't display the pages properly, so I have to open IE. I avoid IE because of the security problems.

I've been using firefox for a while too. Like Abdomen, every once in a while, I'll run into a page that won't display properly and I'll have to use IE. But, I can't stand IE. My popup killer and antivirus are always going off. Plus, like everyone said, Firefox is much more stable. It's also much more organized. The "tab" feature is awesome if you read forums. I usually have one window per forum. THen, in each window, I open tabs of each thread I wanna read. Let's me jump to what I wanna read easily without having 10 billion windows at the bottom which XP then minimizes into one which then makes it extremely difficult to find what you want.

I think I'll give 1.0 a try. After using Apple's native browser on the Mac, IE shows its weaknesses. Unfortunately I still need IE. Most of my ASP database development work is deployed to customers who use IE.

My roommate is obsessed with Firefox, but I don't know. I've used Opera for several years on my PC and can't ever see myself changing. I love the mouse navigation too much. I downloaded Firefox for my Mac one time, but it wasn't anything special to me, so I just stick with Safari.

All I use is Firefox, mainly due to the security problems with IE. I also really like the tabbed browsing and built in Google/Ebay/Amazon.com/etc search function. Rarely do I ever have a problem with Firefox not displaying a page properly, so my use of IE is very minimal now. It is much faster than its other non-IE counterparts (Mozilla, Netscape, etc) and is a much lighter program than the others.

I did some informal tests on the Mac comparing page load times between Safari and IE for Mac. Safari is SO much faster!

i use firefox 99% of the time, the other 1% when firefox doesnt work and IE does...

doesnt really matter much to me though, just whatever works best... to me IE is slow though and somewhat clumsy compared to firefox... (though i have 8 internet browsers on my computer, so its nothing too special)

so in going with the thread starter, Firefox = the good, IE unstable = the bad, and IE stable = the ugly

Yup. Of course, You still have to use IE for those sites that STILL only work for IE.

I love firefox, and have been using it for a good year.

When vance (a member here) was having problems connecting to my site and keeping cookies (even with default IE settings), I reccomended him to get mozilla or firefox, and that solved his problem!!
