Already 28 cents per gallon the nutz running the asylum in Olympia want to raise our gas tax even more. Can you believe this in a time when gas prices are through the roof? What it the tax in your state?

"Gasoline and gasohol are taxed at 23 cents per gallon. Additional county taxes range from 5 to 10 cents per gallon. Combined state/county rates will vary from a minimum 28 cents per gallon to a maximum of 33 cents per gallon depending upon the county." (http://tax.state.nv.us/taxnew/overview.htm)

The gas tax here has not even been mentioned as far as I can see. People here are too preoccupied with the outrageous property tax increases. If the next increase actually hits in July like it is scheduled my house payment will go up by $150.00/month in pure tax. And many others will be hit much harder than me. So I don’t think the state would dare throw in a new gas tax for a while.

i cant wait for hydrogen power. has anyone else read up on BMW's hydro powered experiments? pretty cool, they got their vehicle up to 187mph...something like 180HP engine, 12 cylinder. this technology is looking very promising.

I don't think making the cars run on hydrogen is the big problem...its supplying it to the consumers that is the main issue...its kinda hairy stuff to transport, load, etc..

Our state tax on gasoline in NC is 26.6 cents/gallon.

NC's state gas tax comes in three pieces. There's a flat tax of 17.5 cents and a 0.25-cent inspection fee, and the rest is adjusted every six months according to a formula based on changes in wholesale prices.

I just paid $2.25 today for 87 octane.

BMW has already built their own "(gas/hydrogen)station"....according to them, it will be no more hazardous than gasoline, will not take near as long to fill up your tank, and collisions where the tank is affected wont be any more dangerous than a gas tank. thats what BMW has said in their articles i read anyway. i hope/think it will rapidly approach in the coming years.

I dont really mind the gas prices, $2.09 for basic and $2.17 for middle, which I use. Not like I'm going to stop planting my foot firmly on the floor ;)

But yes, gas tax sucks, especially when you live in a state like PA and you play games like "dodge the potholes" on every single road.

$2.34 at my local bp (formerly Amoco) for premium gas. I fill up about 15 gallons on average. Before all this gas crysis bullshit, I would be paying $25 a tank, but now it's $35 a tank. This tank of gas covers me for a week's worth of driving. I don't mind the price difference, what really annoys me is that diesel is the most expensive fuel at $2.44 per gallon....diesel is supposed to be the economical fuel (regarding diesel-powered vehicles). [:(]
