Apparently, some residents of New Jersey either don't know who the president is or they don't want their children to think that W is still in office. [rolleyes]

If the pictures were of presidents, why would the teacher have to put John Kerry's picture up before the elections are over (or even before he would be sworn into office if he were to win the election)?

That is a load of crap! Every Federal building has a photo of the president in it an dwhen I went to school (granted 100 years ago) we had photos of the current and some past president up in class. The worse part is the administration telling her to take it down or put up a photo of Kerry too? Huh, did I miss the election. No wonder so many kids are messed up today.

You went to school 100 years ago? [80?] Time to break out all the "old man" jokes. [clap] jk

For some reason, I have a strong feeling that if someone were to ask these people "In which state is Washington D.C located?" or to find New Jersey on a world map, they wouldn't be able to answer either.

It seems like 100 years ago. I chose to send my kids to private school when I became disappointed in the public schools years ago. Today I am gald that I did even though it was expensive.

I, personally, despise bush, but think his picture should be up with the rest of the presidents.... is he NOT the president of the USA? Moron people

Its good she decides to keep her opinion of politics out side of the classroom, exactly where religion should stay.

After going through highschool, I dont think public schooling is the problem with kids. Wether it be learning ability, behavior, or anything else you can name... I still think it's the parents.

I've never broken any laws with the exception of speeding, and I might have accidently consumed an alcoholic beverage or two (in the privacy of someone's home, where I stayed there over night). I would never ever (and HAVE never) done drugs. I feel like I've developed in to a fairly responsible person and I get respect from nearly every adult that I come in contact with. There were PLENTY of kids at my school who got in trouble left and right, doing things I couldn't even IMAGINE doing. The one thing I never understood was a student back talking to a teacher... That person is the one giving you the assignments, tests, and the grade. Back talking is so disrespectful, that in the end it only hurts the student.

For the educational value of public schools? Well, my school had a very good social studies team, our music program was very strong, and thats pretty much it. English was an absolute JOKE (As I know now!!), Math was a joke, and pretty much everything else was too.

But I'm doing fine in college. Passing every class... I'd assume about a 3.0 gpa. My classes are hard, but I feel I've learned enough in school to be able to get through college.
