Some of you may already know, but a little over a week ago i got dumped. Now keep in mind i still feel like shit, and really wish i had her back, but something strange happened. She dumped me, and i had $110 in my pocket. TWO DAYS later i STILL had $110 in my pocket. This almost confused me, i suddenly wondered where i got this money, and who it may have belonged to, because i certainly didn't have $110 for that long.

*sigh* still wish i had her, but thought i'd share my astonishment with money in my single pocket.

no big reason, just general stress from the responsibility of a relationship. i gave so much of myself to her, and she couldn't give much more back, and that made her feel bad, thus stressing her for not bringing as much to the table as i did, on top of all the other school things taking her time. The difference between me and a lot of girls is this: they have to "find time" and i make it. i make time when i need to for them, but just never happens in return. but i am young, so i have many years to figure this out and find someone to make time for me. but needless to say, i got the axe.

I heard, sorry bro. But look at it this way: if you have $110 in one week, you'll have $330 in 3 weeks, which is enough for a good cold air intake system for your car. And then in 4 more weeks...what I'm getting at is you should occupy yourself so as not to think about her. Go see a movie or hang out with friends, or, as I suggested, invest and work on your car. Whatever keeps your mind off her, will keep you from being depressed.

Sounds very much like my previous relationship. We broke up after one year for the same reasons. Is the pic of you with a girl ...your prev. gf?

I do not want to spend too much on cars now.. saving up to build my house.

I'm going to offer an opinion that I gathered from my life of experience.

The whole thing about her feeling bad because you brought more to the relationship than her totally sounds like a cop out line. It sounds like something she fed you so she would not hurt your feelings. It sounds like there was a different reason, but she can't bring herself to tell you. I've heard a lot of pathetic excuses in my life. "It's not you, it's me." That line really means, "it's you." I'm not trying to make you feel bad, though.
What you need to do is worry about your car and saving money for your future. A woman will come with time....the right woman. She will make time for you just as you will for her. Don't be surprised if it ever gets annoying, though. Just remember that that's what you wanted.
.....so.....go to bars (or parties), enjoy your car, take up a hobby like billiards or playing guitar or building furniture or something that you like. There's a ton of things out there that you can spend your time on...and you don't need a woman to do it. [thumb]

I don't know 'em that well yet. Those are all the thing I like doing. YOU just happen to have good taste. [hihi]

Grab your 6-string and start crankin' out some stuff. That'll take your mind off things. If not, grab a 6-pack and head to the pool hall.

i am but 17 years of age, most good pool halls require an ID validating 21 years of life, if not at least 18. and i don't drink. but yeah, like i said i'm totally not dwelling now. I just wanted to have fun with the fact that i am saving a lot of money now.

I'll tell you something you DON'T want to hear. Save it. Don't spend it on your car. Don't spend it on yourself. Don't spend it at Christmas. Get yourself a decent mutual fund and keep putting money into it. One day (a lot sooner than you think), you're gonna want to buy/build a house. You'll need all the dough you can lay your hands on.

On the other hand, you're only young once, right? You already have a bimmer, though, so I can't think of anything you would really want to spend your money on. I wasted quite a bit of my money....dang, I wish I would've saved some of it.

Whoa, you need to be 21 or 18 to get into a pool hall around there? Either way, pool halls are overrated unless go have a few friends who are real good. Bear is right, you may wanna put your money in savings. I have a savings account with exactly $50 in there (no joke). Every time I get my hands on some $$$, I always end up spending it. I figure that I am still young and have lots of time to save up, but I do feel guilty not putting it away for a better cause later.

I agree with Bear6360. The younger you are to start putting money away in mutual funds, bonds, cds, or stocks the younger you will be to financial stability later on. You’re under the age of 20, if you add something to it each year you will be building a pretty strong foundation.

wanna know something funny? i actually acree with bear! you all are saying you are only young once, live it up, have fun with your money. being young only once.. i am 19. i cant blow money like that. i have a house and a baby and am going to college. how much money do you think i blow. i wish i hadnt blown it all when i was "younger".. like 15! have fun, but be responsible. things happen that you dont plan on, for example a baby, graduating high school, getting married, buying a house and a car all in the same year! do what you want frolf cuz i know youre gonna anyway:) i just wish i had been smarter.

Sounds like you didn't have much of a childhood... usually a wife, a child and a house hits you over the head at like 30.

i had a great childhood! it wasnt as long as everyone elses but i couldnt possibly be any happier. i think i am lucky i had a baby so young. i am going to be a young mom and it doesnt get any better than that! i also found my soulmate early in life so why not marry him so he cant go anywhere!!! i am still a big kid and i always will be. i enjoy my life very much and i have no regrets at all, just want to warn everyone to expect the unexpected!
