I don't want to be called out or flamed for this picture. I saw this and it almost made me cry. This is a picture of a mother and her dead daughter. Daughter was killed at the Breslin School in Russia last week. Terrorism is affecting everybody.....WORLDWIDE. Half of the dead Hostage takers have been identified as Middle Eastern Islamic fundalmentalists. I don't know what message I want(ed) to convey with this picture...maybe it will touch some of you the way it touched me. It hurt me just to imagine that was one of my children.

Terrorism.......I read that there have been links between the Chechyn Rebels and Al Qaida. Anywhere these idiots can get noticed, they operate. Wasn't just women and children. These idiots don't care who they kill...hell the leader of the Breslin Hostage crisis last week killed 3 of his own people to prevent dissemination in his ranks.

I don’t fully understand this either but these terrorists are everywhere.

My fear for a while has been something like this happening here. When they can’t make a big strike they get desperate and start this.

Tool Fan - I had a similar reaction to yours when I saw the children of the 9/11 victims in NYC annouce their parent's name at the memorial service. How tough was that for those kids?

Codex57 = Chechnya has a large Islamic population. The battle is over Russian control vs. independence. You might consider it a civil war.

Yes, terrorism does affect everyone, even those who claim to be passive and unbiased. Look at France (feel free to flame me - I don't like France). They took the passive role in the recent middle east crisis, in part to avoid any terroristic action towards them. And what happened recently? French journalists were kidnapped because France banned Islamic headwear in public schools. They are fools to expect that they can stick their head between their legs and not be affected.

I definitely don’t hate France. All they were saying is what we found to be fact so far-no hub for terrorists and no WMD’s in Iraq.

All France was saying is that they thought actions were premature based on evidence and that they could not afford to act irrationally, like we can, look at our public debt now.

Yes Tool Fan, I understand the same, there are strong ties with Al Qaida.

Couple this with the tremendous and largely unsecured nuclear weapons around the country and the threat is obvious.

Several years ago there was a documentary on the nuclear facilities in Russia and how unsecured they are. And also a number of reports of missing items, including 2 suitcase units.

What slimy scum of the earth. What they do in the name of their religion for political power is disgusting. I hope our homegrown religious nuts never get their religion into our schools and government. Something as simple as our founding father's belief in the separation of church and state is totally lost on these people. We should be so thankful for our constitution and public education system. Our founding fathers got it right and we got such a gift.

We are reaching a time like no other in international isues. States hold power, but satateless entities such as terror groups can have vast control over governments as well. Islamic fundementalists are having growing pains within their religion, much like what christianity went through in the 15th and 16th centuries.

However...the attack on that school made me sick. There's no justification for that sort of violence. Those children did nothing wrong and it shows the truly barbaric nature of these individuals.

I am truly impressed with the level of responses that this thread has received. Truly educated responses, not the wise crack standard comments that are oh so common on other threads......Thank you guys for keeping the mood of this pure.

I could not agree with you more. These people (if you can call them people) know no morals or bounds. They need to be hunted down and destroyed. Imagine the reaction you would have as a father had one of those children been your own. My prayers are with the victims and their families.

I completely agree, but they have a complete different way of life than we do. None of us understand them (and frankly I don't WANT to understand them... I just want them to vanish and stop making me worry.)

I hate to be the one to say this...

I hate to be the one saying this, but does anyone else notice some similarities between the way these terrorist groups are going about their "duty" and the way WWII started. People were too devastated from WWI, that the Third Riech gained so much momentum and power while other countries just stood by and watch as Germany usurped many different countries. And nowadays, it seems that so many different governments are being ignorant to the point where terrorism is starting to strike them.

It really strikes terror in my heart so see such images, and I hope I never live to see the day when all these fundamentalists finally take their "march into poland" as it were.

I was watching a special on the Twin Tower diseaster and I felt this horrible feeling within as my heart, mind and soul foolishly attempted to understand the magnitude of pain that each family felt; and not only just from that attack, but for all the attacks. It hurts me, and it hurts others on this board because most people cannot fathom such unnecessary acts of violence. Hannah Arendt seems to voice this very clearly in her writings on the Human Condition; wonder if she was right....

just my two cents; Sean.

I can feel her pain in that photo, I can't even describe the feeling I get, thinking about me being in that ladies place looking down on my girl's body. Chills and a sick feeling in the stomach is only part of it..

Ignorance and lack of tolerance, that's my opinion of the real issues with Western/Middle Eastern society. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the Muslim religion, or those that follow it. If nothing else, when followed properly it's a more peaceful religion then most, including the many flavors of Christianity. The people doing things now 'in the name of Allah' are no better than the christian crusaders of the middle ages 'in the name of jesus'.

tool fan, your sig remark says it all - "Those who don't remember the past, are condemned to repeat it"

That picture alone makes me WANT to drop out of college, and go into the military. I swear the day i graduate its off to the military, i will be a pilot (becasue i am in an aero science program), and i will shoot every damn human that so much as thinks of killing women and children.

as much as that pic makes me sad, it makes me 50 billion times more mad. this is unnacceptable!!!!!!!!

I am willing to die, as I pursue killing every bastard that lays a finger on any woman or child with cruel intentions. It might sound as if I am saying this because I am flammed, and I am.....but I am damn serious about the dieing part too, give me the chance, I'll take it. THIS HAS TO STOP! NOW!

Not to flame the thread... but killing our president is frowned upon... unless you mean killing women and children with their own two hands.

though their (the terrorists') actions were completely unacceptable, radical, and a detriment to everybody... dont let ourselves be just as radical or destructive, war has been waged in Chechnya for 5 years now, the province is a complete waste land and Grozny looks like Stalingrad... my point being that it takes two to make a war happen, and we should not let ourselves spiral out of control to the point that things do in fact become worse and more situations like this occur... fight smart, not with force, and not with fire
