The maker of this software is the only guy after a serach of seven monthas that knows well the KW71 protocol, the one used by BMW's before 1999. I have an older version and works well. Compared with the $ 25.000 for a BMW scanner, this is a bargain. I'm in touch with this Russian guy o buy a copy of the software, so I´ll keep you informad.

Late today I'll drop some airbags pictures, please don't desperate[hihi]

NO WAY!(or atleast havent found it) the best you can do is buy(~$100) the hardware from scantool.net(or build it) and download their free software. also obdI and obdII have completely different protocols...you might want to check with gus, wether the kw71 is for the US obc or the Eobc and wich obd ver. its for.

Don't waste your time, the information about KW71 is almost impossible to find. This doesn't means nobody knows about it, the problem is the people who knows don't share it, so there is two chances, Carsoft at $2.500 or the Russian one at $ 150 (euros). The only lack this software has is that it doesn't read AirBag faults.

I built the hardware (ISO 9141 interface) and cost me no more than $ 3.00

There is only one powerful reason for me not to buy it, my car (328i) uses a different communications protocol named DS2 (Murphy's law)

For guys having 1987 to 1995 cars this is a jewel.

Hope this help.

BTW Manuel, I sopped my software work because I'm selling my 328i, I'll try to get an e36 M3.

Bye
