no pics, but it all started when my laptop running sp2 didn't want to open itself up to my desktop running sp1. i hacked the server and rewrote the source code (basic stuff ya know) and still got no love. next thing i know my scroll wheel isn't working form the light taps i was giving my mouse

then after working at it for a lot longer, many restarts and completely running out of patients and solutions i through it out the door of my dorm against the brick wall across the hall. i followed it out and swung it by the chord like a lassoo til i got enough speed and let her rip into the brick wall again. i then ran it under the focet (sp) for a while, giving it the death blow of water.

You make me nervous that you used lethal force on an inanimate object. You don't even let the computer work as it pleases. You try to force it to do what YOU want it to do by changing it's source code and forcing to YOUR will without even considering the how it might feel about that.

The CHRPA (Computer Hardware Rights and Protection Activists) should asking for charges to be filed against you soon. [spank]

haha, ok, new day, fresh start. tonight i'm going to rollback to sp1 and see what happens, i'm a little nervous about my data, but whatever. my mouse was actually pretty old and on the brink anyways, and it truely was a lift up and tap down to get it to work again that sent the scroll wheel sideways. after a while i said to myself "i really need something to smash" and the broken mouse was there, so i "get 'rr dun."

it was pretty fun.

With that attitude, you'll always scare off any patients! [poke]

Now that your fustration must be over, I have never had any issues with SP2 when installed from MS CD that they sent out. However, I had several issues with the full network admin install that I downloaded from MS. Currently running on 5 'puters with no issues.

No real problems with SP2 here on both a newer laptop and an old (550 MHz) desktop.

The only "issue" I've run into with SP2 is on my laptop. It won't let me change allowed ports or "exceptions" in the built in firewall. Probably has something to do with the fact that my laptop is part of the domain at school and some kind of group policy probably got activated. I can't change any settings on it even though I have an administrator level logon on my machine.
