Another Myth about the Wixard of OZ, that the tinman died from lead poisening in the silver paint, no one knows for sure though. Who would've thought, that a childrens movie would turn into a horror movie... I'm reting that this week... I wanna watch it while listening to that album and see the suicide thing... Pavel says he saw it, was scared for days.

so you guys watch "the wizard of oz" while listening to Pink Floyd........wow. Sounds like fun Mr. Lector...lol

anyway, right before i bought the Vetta...i was looking at the Marshall DSL100 and i played it at Guitar Center, and right after i finished and was leaving........someone else started playing on it and couldnt figure something out so they switched it around, and it fell to the ground. It was on top of 2 cabs, fullstack, and fell about 7 feet to the ground and broke 2 or 3 tubes. It was funny since the guy just stood there like "o shit" and everyone was lookin at him. So i left.

moral of story: buy a vetta [thumb]

I dig Pink Floyd. I was about 14 years old (showing my age again!!) when Dark Side of the Moon was released. Still have the original vinyl. Listened to it alot then (I was a teenager in the '70s [;)] 'nuff said), still listen to it once a month or so. We used to play a Pink Floyd double shot in the band - Brain Damage/Eclipse followed by Wish You Were Here. I have an Ovation Legend 12 string electric acoustic that I love to play Floyd on. I gotta get that Dark Side of the Moon reissue.

Zaxford -

Sounds like a nice place to jam with all that gear. I have a few other pieces I didn't mention. Same deal - the guys come over and we can jam without having to setup/teardown. In addition to my Twin, I have a Fender Princeton Amp and Peavy 400w Mixer Amp PA, Yamaha Midi keyboard and a small drum kit. My daughters mess around with the guitars, keyboard and drums as well, so sometimes we jam some basic power chord stuff, and usually wind up getting yelled at by my wife to turn it down.[hihi]

I love all kinds of music and I adhear to the adage " There are only two types of music, Good and Bad" I don't like or dislike anything because it's a certain "style" or "label"

P.S. I'm not too passionate about this subject LOL

Regards
I can almost agree - As far as listening goes, I like all kinds of music, except "My girl died and my horse left me" C&W and hard core/gangsta rap. Other than that anything goes - in the past few weeks I went to a Symphony Orchestra concert; saw Matchbox 20 & Push Stars; played sax in an Alumni band. Loved all of it.

P.S. Cars and music make life exciting!

i play blues guitar, i've played since i was about 10. stevie ray vaughn, jonny lang, albert king and all those greats are who i look up to. also within the past 2-3 years i've started playing piano, mostly just kind of abstract jazz stuff. medeski martin and wood is my main influence there, along with some older blues again. i've played in tons of bands and played at small bonfire parties of like 10 to decent sized gigs of like 500 people.

just thought i'd chime in.

If I had to pick a favorite style of music to play, it would be the blues (that's why SRV is playing my LP). Jonny Lang is unbelieveable, I saw him several years ago in a small club in Phila. He was around 17 - 18 at the time, played the blues like a 90 year old veteran. Another great younger blues player is Susan Tedeschi. Her CD "Just Won't Burn" was great, but her second CD was a little laid back and not as good.

My blues heroes are Buddy Guy (just for the live performance showmanship), Muddy Waters, SRV, Bonnie Raitt, John Lee Hooker, Junior Wells and BB. Our little town has an annual Jazz Fest that's pretty good, and has a big blues component to it. We've been lucky enough to have BB, Buddy Guy, Susan Tedeschi, John Mayall, and the Preservation Hall Band all play here.

I wish I had one-tenth of the talent of any of them.

flyinH - Is it true that Vai and Satriani have, like 7 fingers on each hand? (LOL) Gotta love the G3 Live stuff.

yeah dude, blues is amazing. its amazing how they do so much with such a simple scale and simple progressions. on the other end thats why i like jazz too, so out there, so many things to do with exponentially more complex progressions, its amazes me when the jazz greats can put something down so elegant.

It sucks jonny lang sold out on his recent album, thats what LA and a hot wife will do to you, but he'll be back at the rippin' blues in about 5-10 years.

i also really like old son house stuff, and robert johnson, and..... oh whats his name.... damn. its like james something, pre-son house.

on the complete other end i listen to a lot of techno and even a good dose of hiphop. i truely do like most every genre of music.
