Wow, this post went from burning H2's to a no holds barred knock down fight. I could never respond to all that was said so I will respond in general: (it may not be organized or in order as it was written, I am just responding as I remember)

1. No government money is used for the DARE program. It is all through volunteers and contributions.

2. Foul and vulgar language is an indication of an ignorant person. (Not stupid, ignorant)

3. You cannot blame the President for the economy. He really has nothing to do with it.

4. Every President, or politician for that matter has some dark history, or bad past, etc.

5. Keep in mind when we discuss political matters we know very little of the big picture. Keep an open mind, things change with age and wisdom, and all is not as it may seem.

6. Have respect for each other.

About WarPigs, he quoted my post starting with pink_floyds quote of 'starving morons in africa' and then went on to say racist stuff against africans, but it was hard to tell if he was kidding or not. How does somebody get banned so fast? Does a moderator watch fights and standby?

Hi Lucas,

Normally we are pretty relax when it comes to Political discussions on the forum, however when it comes to making racial slurs jokingly or not, its simply not tolerated here.

Personally I don't think that the words should matter. You should be more concerned about the ignorant,@sshole that is using them in the wrong context. Bravo to you Tom. I wish that I could have slapped him through the computer monitor![thumb]

Kind of interesting that he is a member of a group dedicated to "peace", yet he use violent methods to make his point, and "enviromentalism" yet he destroys the enviroment with his acts against objects. Wow!

True, not to mention the pollutants he release into the air when he torched those vehicles. They are real "Environmentalist". [B)]

Waging War on Iraq to Bring Peace ... what a great way to make people like us.

But if we destroy every human being on this planet then everything would be so peaceful indeed [8)]

Electric utility plants account for about 70 percent of annual SO2 emissions and 30 percent of NOx emissions in the United States. There are no doubt big environmental problems in my opinion but these misguided people are going about "informing" people the wrong way. They are only contributing to the problem! Why don't they try informing people of the fact and not take it upon themselves to commit such horrendous acts.

P.S. I am not taking a position to defend the Hummer and state that everyone should have one, just that there are BIG pollution issues (problems I would say), and while better vehicle emissions would help, I think we may be in trouble in 20-40 years if we don’t also look at some of the bigger emissions problems as well.

Why is it that they target SUVs but ignore pickup trucks and station wagons? Pickups (i.e. F150) have roughly the same gas mileage and pollutants as their SUV counterpart (i.e. Expedition) and have been around a lot longer. There are ALOT more pickups on the road than SUVs, and most of those pickups ARE NOT used for pure hauling purposes..........

So true. Can you imagine how many more pickup trucks are on the road??? I must be something like 10,000, 20,000...or 100,000 to every 1 Hummer. The new Hemmy (not sure about spelling but it is in the new Dodge truck) is said to get 9-12 mpg with the way many drive and maintain them.

I am guilty myself, I have an AWD Expedition. Although it does have the smaller engine and gets about 15 overall. We don't drive it a lot (15,000 miles on it now and 2 years old in January) but it is a true "utility" vehicle. We had 5 special needs kids living with us for a while and there just are not many options for 7 people. We now have twins that we adopted after they were abandoned at a local hospital so we do use the room it provides. And to a large extent, I think the SUV has taken the place of the station wagon, we just need to make them a little more effieient.
