Here we go with more extreme conservative ranting/hackery which again is just commentary presented as news.

Where is this judicial opinion? What is the case? Where, please? Any facts, anyone, please?

Here's your author (pretending to "represent imigrants")....http://www.americanpatrol.com/_WEB2004/040710.html ...
http://www.livingontheplanet.com/bl/archives/000109.html ... a wolf is sheeps clothing? "Regarding health care, former immigration Lawyer Matt Hayes said "it is amazing that America is willing to provide free medical treatment to people who are not citizens - and even illegal aliens - while the home countries of most all of those people will not do so."" http://www.rense.com/general40/emed.htm

What's most amazing about all this is that Bush wants to legalize all these folks...or was he just pandering for the spanish vote, knowing full well his conservative haters would never budge? I mean, this is a double whammy...hate of judges and hate of immagrants. It's a two for one special!

I thought we were going to get away from the politics for a while and stick to car talk?

Conservativism has nothing to do with this thread, your the one trying to make it political. We were all just expressing our shock that the judge failed to penalize the offenders. You do not find this odd; "But although every one of the defendants pleaded guilty, Judge Zito refused to impose any period of incarceration, nor did he fine the defendants. Zito based his decision on the fact that the defendants were all illegal aliens, remarking that they should never have been arrested in the first place because the men committed the crimes “strictly for the purpose of working.” So committing a crime in an effort to work is really not a crime? Democrat or Republican that logic is flawed.

Not bad at all, but I think there might be frame damage, and personally I'd rather not deal with that [V] If you need any parts I'll have 'em!!!

It's a conservative commentary piece from Fox News!!!!!! The author is not a journalist, but an interests peddler!!! Give it a rest. If it were news I would hope for at least some details.

Should I ask my questions above all over again? Before we launch into more conservative rants, it would be nice to at least have the details.

Why do people feel the need to post Fox News commentary pieces, written by a conservative hack, on a car forum? Isn't there a better place for that stuff somewhere else?

yeah mine had frame damage. I'm rolling on a straightened frame :(. I know what you mean about dealing with that junk. Plus you never know the exact cost. The fix was supposed to be cheaper and kept adding up.

I may need a transmission soon.... second gear is starting to give me the clunk. Though i'll probably deal with it till complete failure.

I assume it's a manual. If you want I might have a decent getrag 260/5 for sale. I'm going to wait to see what kind of car I can find and if it has a good tranny first.

FYI if you Google search this incident you can find numerous news agencies that have commented on this judge and this case. However I have PM'd you asking that we please get over it and move on, it was not political, nor was it meant to be. It is my opinion that the judge erred and lacks good judgement. This is all I have to say on the matter as I do not wish to create any further contention on this board.

Well just keep me in mind, I have a pristine getrag.... 'cept the 2nd gear synchro's are on their way out (they work fine but when downshifting it can be difficult)

I only have one comment for everyone:

BUY IDENTITY THEFT INSURANCE

Thank you. [:)]
[rolleyes]
Most Identity theft insurance programs only deal with issues of credit problems and reimbursment cost of such and often have a cap like $15,000.

Credit problems with identity theft is a problem indead, but this can easily be the least of your worries. IRS audits will be a complete pain in the but out of three of the Identity theft insurance packages that I looked at do not mention anything about this. Also, if the person were to break the law using your identity, just think of all of the fun that you would have to find out you now have a criminal record or even a warrant for your arrest, might not be able to vote, might not be able to get that new job, as well as many other things that require a clean record. Now if that were to happen, it would cost you far more than what the identity theft insurance would ever cover.

A good plan will cover $100,000 in lost cash and $100,000 in legal fees plus a number of other things.

I have been through the identity theft problem and I say that everyone should have protection of at least $250,000 to $500,000 to help offset the expense and fight the many theft issues and actions that take place when this happens.

Good grief. LOL. Okay, I'll check PM. You may enjoy conservative rants where a columnist hacks his commentary peice above to include (1) this immigration thing, if it happened as he says, who knows...still no facts provided (2) gay rights (3) the pledge of allegiance (4) abortion protests and (5) judges. To pretend this is some sort of a "heads up" news post is absurd. It's like a constant harangue of conservative rants without any details of what we're supposed to be all upset and hating about. Pretend this is news? Where is this case? What are the details, do these defendants have names? Any facts, anyone, please. Google it? Why is this being presented as news, if it is, in fact, not. Don't pretend you don't know the difference.
