First off, let me say that I love M3's and M5's. BMW's are great cars, it's just the image that the owners have that I hate. I have no problem with you guys defending your cars, especially against unecessary, ignorant bashing, but being a Mitsu owner, I feel like I have to respond to some of the comments here.

If I wanted to I could have bought some shitty import and put a turbo and everything else into it. But I chose to get a BMW because of the superior build quality and the way it drives.
So you COULD have bought an import, but instead, you bought a BMW?

Actually when was the last time the Mitsu won any kind of real race¿
Have you ever heard the letters W, R, and C put together?

Any M car will rape any turbocharged ricer in a REAL race. Those dumbass straight-line races don't mean shit when it comes to actual performance. I guarantee you that if you get an M3 and put it up against whatever the hell that Mitsubishi on that guy's website was, and put them in a full-length race the M3 would absolutely kill it. I doubt the Mistubishi would even last to see the end of the race. I've raced Mustang GTs which have 40 more HP than my car, and weigh a lot less because they're made out of cheap plastic and whatnot, and I killed it. Miserably. I bet the guy was kicking himself in the nuts when he got home that night, but hey, that's what you get for buying a Mustang. Of course more power is good, but cheap power that you get from aftermarket parts that cost $200 from Pep Boys won't do you much good in a real race. To have a fast car, you either buy it fast (BMW[|)]), or to make it even faster you do some REAL tuning, which costs no less than $15,000 and is probably illegal in over 95% of this country.
Ummm... No. You're wrong.

The REAL reason why BMW doesn't make cars with turbos or superchargers is because they believe they are shortcuts to power... which is true. I actually read this in a magazine (I think it was Car & Driver). As for these mediocre ricers that have been on this site lately - GET THE HELL OFF OF OUR SITE. Bottom line is BMW and Mercedes are the best cars in the world. They actually do research and create new technologies to make their cars better (unlike the Japanese, who steal from them mercilessly). I know it may be hard for some of you ricers to understand this, but a 0.004 liter engine running 300hp isn't as fast as you think. Not only to they lack in torque, but if you drive it for about 2 minutes at 110mph+ speeds, say bye-bye to the engine.
WHAT!? I can't even figure out what youre trying to say. BMW and Mercedes the best cars in the world? Hardly. Someone's ego is blinding them. And who says all Japanese cars are small displacement? 3000GT's and Supras are both 3.0L TT cars and make more torque than most NA BMW's.

Where did you go?
I live in Ann Arbor as well. Maybe we should get together sometime and race to settle this whole argument.
