Guys, don't slam the mods too much! This is one of the more liberal BMW forums that I have visited. [headbang]

I know there are one or two other sites that let a lot of things slide, but this is no where near the gestapo that I have seen on several other boards. I know having fun and chattin' about ours cars and other stuff is why we're here, but every once in a while things just get taken too far. And when that happens a moderator or two has to step in.

Hopefully, we don't go too far, or get carried away. Remember, we're trying to keep this a fun and enjoyable place without getting ourselves or others in trouble.

'k on with the fun, I'm offa the soapbox! My apologies for the interruption.

i dont know of anyone on this board who's parents bought them a car except mrelussive and hitman, and they arent even bmw's.

I dont own a bmw, but i plan on buying one in february, with my OWN money. My parents have never given me an allowance either, so theres no way they could have helped.

Remember that some of the younger people here who own nice cars, like pavel, worked it off on their own.

The only thing I paid for myself regarding my car, was the lease termination fee for my Jetta of $3,366. I worked over the summer for that money. My parents pay the monthly payment of $630 for my G35C. After my accident, though, I have to pay for the repairs, which means I have to get a week-end job.

Isn't insurance going to cover the repair charges? I wouldn't want my parents paying for the car.. that way they feel like they can always drive the car or claim it as theirs... they can pay for the house but they cannot pay for the car!!!! [:(!]

Well, my parents never touch my car. My mom doesn't drive stick shift and my dad knows I hate it when he drives my car (he only drove my G35C once, with me in it). My parents don't want to use insurance to pay for the repair charges because they don't want my insurance to go up. But maybe it's because they don't know it's probably going to cost $5K to $6K. This price is just my educated guess based on somebody on the G35 forum who had the same accident. I have not spoken to the Infiniti dealership about how much my car is going to cost to repair. In any event, my parents said I have to get a job and pay for it, which is understandable. I just need to find a job and I want my car back ASAP !!
