First of all, the H2 isn't that roomy on the inside, that's why I think it's a terrible SUV. It's outrageously large, yet the interior room is only average and trunk space is on the small side. It seats 5 people comfortably, and there is an optional 6th seat, but that goes in the trunk and robs the trunk space. And being such a large vehicle with a 6.0L V8 engine with superb off-road capabilities at $50K, GM had to cut costs somewhere...that somewhere is the interior. It's not garbage or anything, but I laugh at anyone who expects wood trim or a decent stereo system, etc. in this SUV. It really is just a big, expensive, toy...

The GM bose sound systems SUCK, before you voice your ignorant opinion, how about you listen to other car's sound systems??

The bose system is NOTHING to gawk at...in fact it's nothing special.

And, his car is NOT a "toy" becuase it is very practical for his needs, and it gives him entertinament. A hummer is simply not practical -- NOBODY needs a hummer, they would be perfectly fine with a 30k tahoe or something (if they needed an SUV at all...)

Okay, let me explain and straighten some stuff out here.

MyHarley, I believe it was Tom who originally posted the story for us. If you want the pictures back up, then PM Tom and I'm sure he can do it for you. But the story was of this woman who took her kids in the middle of the night in her brand-new H2 and drove it wrecklessly on a field. She also tried to knock over this statue (she thought she could, "Jump the statue like in the commercial"), but she got stuck at the concrete wall and her H2 was pretty destroyed.

Regarding Audio Systems, one thing you have to take into account is not only who the system is from (i.e. Bose, Harman Kardon, etc.) but the actual setup itself. For example, my car came with a Bose 7-speaker audio system and the sound is pretty solid. But my mom's S500 came with a Bose 11-speaker audio system (and higher quality speakers), and the sound is a bit better. What is important is the quality of the equalizer/amplifier/receiver, the positioning and quality of the speakers, what speakers were used, etc. The Bose Audio System is generally a very solid sound system no matter how well it's configured, but BMW's Harman Kardon audio system is superb. In fact, in the new-model Mercedes, they are now using the Harman Kardon audio system instead of Bose.

Hitman, essentially, you are right, my car can be considered a "toy", but I would never ever call it that. It is my daily driver and it suits my needs perfectly. As epj3 often says, why should a person get something more practical than what they need, especially if it compromises your personal enjoyment of the car. In my case, I chose what I felt was the perfect combination of that. 90% of the time, I am driving my car by myself. Occasionally, I'll take a few people with me, but my car seats 4 people (2 full-size adults can sit in the back decently comfortably for short trips), so my requirement for a 4-door vehicle is minimal. And yes, the trunk is pretty small (7.8 cubic feet of cargo space), but the rear seats fold down at the pull of one latch, and that opens up a whole new world of storage space. In fact, I moved into my college dorm last week with my G35C...I just folded the seats back and stuffed everything into the back/trunk (including my 19" monitor and computer base, and all my other stuff). So maybe the car is just a "toy" to, let's say, a busy mom who drives their kids around and is constantly taking trips to the supermarket, etc. But for me, the car does an extremely good job of being my daily driver and calling it a "toy" would just be an insult to the car, as it is much more to me than that. Oh yeah, and I don't really care about looking cool to other people and showing off and blah blah blah. I don't use my car to pickup girls or get atteniton, etc. My car looks good to me, and (reason #1) I am absolutely crazy about the drive. It seems like the H2 driver just wants a "look at me, look at me" type of car as it is a HUGE vehicle (which makes it hard to drive) and not proportionally as large on the inside, and if you really look at it, it's really not an attractive-looking vehicle...it's just a big rectangle on wheels and its primary purpose is to go off-road (which most owners do not do).

Well, I guess I might as well jump in here too. I think the H2 is junk, no question about it, it does not hold up well, it has little real functionality, and I cannot even begin to understand why anyone would buy this thing. Furthermore, I share the same option of the sound systems in GM products; they are certainly not a superior product as far as I can tell. On numerous occasions I have read reviews about Bose and the frequent loss of certain ranges with certain systems and I think this is some of the problem with the GM system. However, to someone that considers two way JBL’s from 1975 as the worlds premier speaker, they would likely not notice the poor quality. Whereas a person that has become accustom to the vast range of Klipsch may not like the quality of the GM system. In my opinion anyway.

Same with home theater systems (where I have most experience in...)

The bose are absolutely amazing, but I still think the harman/kardon, denon, and Onkyo are totally better.

You know what home theater speaker company I think is REALLY great? KLIPSCH !!!!
The Klipsch 2.1 Computer Audio Speaker System is my first and only Klipsch speaker setup, but I can tell you that I am now a customer for life (when it comes to home theater speakers).

That would be cool

atleast, it would be if klipsch made a 500 something dollar computer speaker system. [thumb]

They DO make expensive PRO speakers, but they cost a little more than 500...

Klipsch's most expensive computer speaker system is $300. Sometimes they have problems, but you can just return it to the store and get a new one, that's what happened to mine. I bought my system two years ago and the fuse blew, but Best Buy replaced mine. I've had my Klipsch 2.1 speaker system for 2 years and it sounds incredible and sound quality hasn't deteriorated one bit. The Klipsch speaker system is one of the richest-sounding speakers I've ever heard from computer speakers, and I have faith that their home theater speakers kick ass as well. [:D]
