Okay, let me explain and straighten some stuff out here.
MyHarley, I believe it was Tom who originally posted the story for us. If you want the pictures back up, then PM Tom and I'm sure he can do it for you. But the story was of this woman who took her kids in the middle of the night in her brand-new H2 and drove it wrecklessly on a field. She also tried to knock over this statue (she thought she could, "Jump the statue like in the commercial"), but she got stuck at the concrete wall and her H2 was pretty destroyed.
Regarding Audio Systems, one thing you have to take into account is not only who the system is from (i.e. Bose, Harman Kardon, etc.) but the actual setup itself. For example, my car came with a Bose 7-speaker audio system and the sound is pretty solid. But my mom's S500 came with a Bose 11-speaker audio system (and higher quality speakers), and the sound is a bit better. What is important is the quality of the equalizer/amplifier/receiver, the positioning and quality of the speakers, what speakers were used, etc. The Bose Audio System is generally a very solid sound system no matter how well it's configured, but BMW's Harman Kardon audio system is superb. In fact, in the new-model Mercedes, they are now using the Harman Kardon audio system instead of Bose.
Hitman, essentially, you are right, my car can be considered a "toy", but I would never ever call it that. It is my daily driver and it suits my needs perfectly. As epj3 often says, why should a person get something more practical than what they need, especially if it compromises your personal enjoyment of the car. In my case, I chose what I felt was the perfect combination of that. 90% of the time, I am driving my car by myself. Occasionally, I'll take a few people with me, but my car seats 4 people (2 full-size adults can sit in the back decently comfortably for short trips), so my requirement for a 4-door vehicle is minimal. And yes, the trunk is pretty small (7.8 cubic feet of cargo space), but the rear seats fold down at the pull of one latch, and that opens up a whole new world of storage space. In fact, I moved into my college dorm last week with my G35C...I just folded the seats back and stuffed everything into the back/trunk (including my 19" monitor and computer base, and all my other stuff). So maybe the car is just a "toy" to, let's say, a busy mom who drives their kids around and is constantly taking trips to the supermarket, etc. But for me, the car does an extremely good job of being my daily driver and calling it a "toy" would just be an insult to the car, as it is much more to me than that. Oh yeah, and I don't really care about looking cool to other people and showing off and blah blah blah. I don't use my car to pickup girls or get atteniton, etc. My car looks good to me, and (reason #1) I am absolutely crazy about the drive. It seems like the H2 driver just wants a "look at me, look at me" type of car as it is a HUGE vehicle (which makes it hard to drive) and not proportionally as large on the inside, and if you really look at it, it's really not an attractive-looking vehicle...it's just a big rectangle on wheels and its primary purpose is to go off-road (which most owners do not do).
